The 2025 ISPS HANDA Halberg Awards showcased an extraordinary year in New Zealand sport, with golfing icon Dame Lydia Ko receiving the Supreme Halberg Award—the country’s most prestigious sporting honour. Her achievement capped off an evening that recognised excellence, determination, and the unifying power of sport.
Now in its 62nd year, the Halberg Awards not only celebrate the nation’s top athletic achievements across eight categories, but also shine a light on the vital work of the Halberg Foundation, whose
mission is to enhance the lives of physically disabled young people by enabling them to participate in sport and recreation.
As title sponsor, ISPS HANDA is proud to support this inspiring event—one that so closely reflects its own commitment to promoting inclusivity through the power of sport. ISPS HANDA’s belief that “sport has the power to inspire, break down barriers, and unite communities” is deeply aligned with the Halberg Foundation’s efforts to make sport accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. ISPS HANDA was represented at the ceremony by Ambassadors Richie McCaw and Dan Carter, revered All Black legends who embody the spirit of sportsmanship and leadership both on and off
the field.
