Scott Scheffler has been named Player of the Year at the ISPS HANDA GWAA Awards, held in Augusta, Georgia, during the Masters Tournament. This marks Scheffler’s second consecutive win of the prestigious award, following a standout season highlighted by his 2024 Masters victory and an impressive seven PGA Tour titles.
ISPS HANDA was proudly represented at the awards dinner by Enda Kenny, Patron of ISPS HANDA and former Prime Minister of Ireland, along with Brendan Scannell, ISPS HANDA Ambassador and former Irish Ambassador to Japan.
Among the evening’s honourees was Ernie Els, who was recognised as Senior Player of the Year. Els, a four-time major champion and ISPS HANDA Ambassador, continues to exemplify excellence both on and off the course.
The annual Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA) Dinner celebrated outstanding achievements in golf performance and media contributions. This year’s major award recipients included:

- Senior Player of the Year – Ernie Els
- Jim Murray Award – Lydia Ko
- Ben Hogan Award – Chris Kirk
- Charlie Bartlett Award – Billy and Brittany Horschel

- PGA Lifetime Achievement Award for Photojournalism – Fred Vuich
